Un tentativo di redimersi unito alla presenza di molte novità, queste le principali caratteristiche dell’edizione numero 80 dei Golden Globe. Quelle degli ultimi anni hanno visto l’emergere di molte polemiche a seguito di scandali e decisioni controverse che hanno sporcato la reputazione dell’HFPA, ma per la cerimonia prevista per il 10 gennaio al Beverly Hilton Hotel di Los Anglese si attendono grandi sorprese.
Golden Globe 2023, tutte le novità
Sicuramente tra le notizie più rilevanti c’è il ritorno in televisione (Sky sarà l’emittente per l’Italia) della notte di premiazione. L’anno scorso la cerimonia di assegnazione dei premi, nonostante si sia svolta regolarmente, la rete americana NBC si era rifiutata di trasmetterla in tv. Le motivazioni erano collegate alle polemiche sorte sulla scarsa inclusività della Hollywood Foreign Press Association che organizza questo evento, sulla sua organizzazione opaca e sui maldestri tentativi di riforma.
La 80esima edizione vedrà la conduzione dell’attore comico e regista Jerrod Carmichael, mentre le nomination appena annunciate cercano di coprire tutte le categorie possibili affinché il lavoro dei professionisti del settore non rimanga marginale.
Infatti, i Golden Globe hanno deciso di aggiungere delle nuove categorie: Miglior Attrice e Miglior Attore non protagonista in una serie tv Musical, Comedy o Drama; Miglior Attrice e Attore non protagonista in una serie tv Musical, Comedy o Drama; e Miglior Attrice e Miglior Attore non protagonista in una miniserie
Nomination e favoriti
E’ The Banshees of the Inisherin il titolo che si porta a casa il maggior numero di nomination, in gara per ben 8 categorie, la dark comedy irlandese occupa il primo posto tra i favoriti, seguito dalle 6 nomination di Everything Everywhere All at Once.
A contendersi il premio più ambito, quello di miglior film drammatico, sono due blockbuster come Avatar 2 e Top Gun: Maverick, il biopic Elvis e il capolavoro autobiografico di Steven Spielberg The Fabelmans e Tar.
Per quanto riguarda la commedia invece troviamo l’ultimo progetto di Chazelle con il cast stellare di Babylon, The Banshees of Inisherin, Everything Everywhere All at Once,Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery e la contemporanea critica alla borghesia di Triangle of Sadness.
E per le serie tv? Come Miglior serie drammatica troviamo in gara senza troppe sorprese House of the Dragon e The Crown, insieme a Better Call Saul, Ozark e Severance.
